Healthy Homemade Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Many of us grew up loving the rich, chocolaty taste of Nutella®. Now you can enjoy all of the nutty goodness without any of the dairy, oil, or refined sugar with this lightened-up homemade version from our friends at Simple Vegan Blog.

Ingredients

2 cups raw hazelnuts

¼ cup raw cacao

1 cup non-dairy milk (try soy, almond, or coconut!)

½ cup maple syrup

Directions

Preheat the oven to 355ºF

Place the hazelnuts into a baking sheet and roast them for 10 to 15 minutes.

When the hazelnuts are cool, blend them in a food processor until get a crumbly texture.

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until the spread  is ready.
